Public Involvement

NOTICE: In compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20, which allows for Brown Act meetings to be held remotely during a declared state of emergency, Commission and Committee meetings will be held by teleconference until further notice. Information on how to participate in meetings is included on the meeting agendas. In-person attendance will not be possible until further notice.

General Public Participation Instructions for Teleconference Meetings

The public is encouraged to participate in the LAFCo decision making process. Verbal testimony at our public hearings and correspondence concerning matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction are welcome. In addition, the meetings provide an excellent opportunity for the public to familiarize themselves with the growth, development, and inter-jurisdictional issues facing their county. At the LAFCo meeting, the Commission considers the proposal, the staff report, and public testimony and may adopt a resolution to approve or deny the proposal wholly or partially, with or without amendments or conditions.

Commission meetings may be live-streamed and recorded and are available on the Mendocino County YouTube channel.
